Russia enjoys rise in fixed investment

Fixed investment in Russia inched up 1.3 percent in the first half of 2010 compared to a year earlier, the Federal State Statistics Service reported today.
In June 2010 alone, fixed investment jumped 7.4 percent year on year to RUB 758.1bn (approx. USD 24.89bn), and soared 19 percent month on month (compared to May 2010).
Meanwhile, in January-May 2010, year-on-year fixed investment slid 0.4 percent. In May, it expanded 5.5 percent compared to May 2009.
