Technology parks gear up for private investment

The government is likely to allow Russia's technology parks to attract private investments in addition to the state ones, RBC Daily reported today, citing Andrey Shpilenko, director of the High Technology Park Association, and Denis Solodovnikov, head of the technology park department at the Communications and Mass Media Ministry. The ministry and the association are scheduled to discuss this issue today.
According to Shpilenko, technology parks should not be enclosed areas where only research is carried out. Scientific and research centers serve this purpose. It is necessary to establish design companies, service centers and packing companies in these parks in order to commercialize technologies designed by startups.
