Polymetal disclaims merger talks with Polyus Gold

Russia's largest silver producer Polymetal International has denied media reports about being in negotiations over a possible merger with Russia's largest gold producer Polyus Gold.
Polymetal confirms that it has held no such negotiations with Polyus Gold, Polymetal said in its statement.
Earlier today, U.S. business media reported citing sources that the owners of the two companies are conducting consultations over a possible merger deal, which is valued at about $6.9bn.
